Brief history
William Redd, known as the King of Slot Machines, founded IGT in 1975. He called it A-1 Supply and then renamed it to Sircoma before becoming IGT in 1981. It went public on NASDAQ that same year. In 1986, Redd sold IGT to Gtech. He served on the board of directors until it went public on the NYSE in 1991. IGT expanded and opened offices in Argentina and South Africa. In 2010, IGT won several awards and celebrated the production of 2 million slot machines.
IGT continued with its acquisition of various companies. It now has more than ten thousand employees with offices in more than a hundred countries. Its revenue in 2015 reached almost $5 billion and its profit was around $56 million.
